Anthony Mayes grew up in Columbia Tennessee and attended Tennessee State University. Anthony is a father of two with over 30 years of martial arts experience. He began taking martial arts in 1973 largely due to the TV series The Green Hornet and Kato. He has been teaching martial arts since 1976.
He was an active member of the Professional Karate Association (PKA) and was a professional competitor for many years. Anthony has been the Grand Champion at many open tournaments.
He has studied several styles of martial arts including, Capoeira, Isshin Ryu, Taekwondo, & Wado Ryu. He is a 5th degree black belt. He has studied under Andy Harvy, Yung Ken Kong, Mark Zulu & Rusty Gray.
Anthony currently teaches the Adult Kickboxing. His interests include track, basketball, football, art, piano and poetry.
